Winemaker John Durham

Plantagenet was the first winery in the Great Southern wine region of Western Australia and has developed an enviable reputation for producing high quality wines since 1975. The winery is located in the heart of the Mount Barker township, which is 350 kilometres south of the Western Australian capital of Perth. The Great Southern encompasses an area 100 kilometres long by 65 kilometres wide with a climate ranging from strong maritime to moderately continental. As far as landscape, you’ll find everything from magnificent coastline to rolling farmland, as well as stunning national parks.

The Hazard Hill vineyard is set amongst the hills in the South West of Western Australia. Long time vigneron Eva named the area after years of traversing the steep countryside dotted with ironstone and granite. Fruit for the Hazard Hill wine is sourced from the Hazard Hill Vineyards as well as various other mature vineyards in the South West corner of Western Australia. The Hazard Hill Semillon Sauvignon & Shiraz are now sealed under a screw cap. A screw cap ensures the quality you get in the glass is the same as we put in the bottle in the winery.
